When you think of the York County Heritage Trust, your first thought may NOT be of big clearances, drastic markdowns, or anything else remotely related to retail! If your thoughts turn instead to stewardship and the care of the collections that are so important to preserving and exploring the history of our county, our region and our great nation, then we have done a good job of expressing our mission and our purpose.
Nonetheless, as you spend time here, or in any museum in a city near or far, your experience may include browsing in a shop for unique local art, special gifts, or reminders of your trip and the things that you have learned there.
As the Trust navigates through our big-picture strategic plan, one of the elements of the plan is the re-styling and renovation of our shop at the Historical Society Museum (250 East Market Street). As we near the exciting process of restyling, our next step in the journey is to liquidate and move the inventory that remains!
What, you ask, might we have in the little shop that looks out on Market Street? You will be amazed! We have books (decorating, cookbooks, kids books, history books), home decor (ceramics, wood, metal, wall art), handbags and jewelry, tea sets, plush for kids, stationery and much more! The sale will include gifts for all seasons from deep in our storage closets, all reduced for your shopping pleasure!
Hours are Thursday and Friday, March 29-30, 9 am – 5 pm, and Saturday, March 31st, 8 am – 5 pm. (And we even have Early Bird Specials, Saturday only, 8-9 pm)
